We took Matthew to the circus for the first time last Friday. The second he saw a clown he wanted to go home. He enjoyed the elephants, lions and tigers. We stayed until intermission so he saw an hour and a half which was plenty. My Mom and Dad had given him $5.00 for a toy, he picked out the red blinking sunglasses that are in picture down below. We are planning to take him to the Omaha Zoo in May. I bet he will really like that (since he won't have to sit still).

KATIE'S 1ST COMMUNION. My mom made her dress, it was beautiful. All through Mass
I just kept thinking about how it was (seemed) just yesterday we were dressing
Katie in her baptismal gown and now she is so big. I got choked up thinking about it, and
next year it will be Caleb's (my nephew) turn.

Something Cute
On Easter Sunday I was talking to my neices and nephews about middle names. When I asked Ben (4yrs) what his middle name was he replied with a straight face "My middle name is Danger!" What a ham!

Matthew and his "Easter Basket"

I made Ukrainian Easter bread (Paska). It wasn't to bad, but took two days to make.

Matthew and I were sick last week. I haven't been that sick in ten years. I had influenza and bronchitis. I had a fever of 104, I layed on the living room floor for two days. Matthew had bronchitis and even with a fever of 103.8 he still ran around and played. We are doing better this week but still have colds. It was the worst time for me to get sick--the last week of tax season. But we survived.

My Neice Katie's 8th Birthday!
I can't believe she is eight already. She is an easy going and extremely creative girl. It seems like only last week that her father called us and said "Her water broke". My husband innocently replied "No it didn't Cara is in the shower right now" Katie is the first grandchild on my side so I think I remember her birth the most. She is making her first Holy Communion this Sunday. I (her God Mother) am very proud. I will post pictures of her in her beautiful dress that my mom made for her after Sunday.

Court Day!!!
The last step in Matthew's adoption was to have him "re-adopted" in South Dakota. It doesn't have to be done but it will make life easier for Matthew. All of the documents from Ukraine can be filed away and now we have everything in English. We went to court, answered about twenty minutes of questions, and in three weeks we should have a SD birth certificate for Matthew. Then we (Jeff, Matthew, my sister Laura, my parents and I) went to Edgar's old fashioned Soda Fountain for treats. Now we can start working on another adoption, I am pretty sure we are going to go back to Ukraine as soon as we can save up a lot of cash.

Matthew and Emma at the nursing home egg hunt. Matthew was still in the baby room egg hunt so he got an ice cream bucket full of eggs, plus my pockets and his. The other kids didn't get nearly as many eggs. All my neices and nephews were timid around the residents of the home but not Matthew he went right up to them and showed them his eggs.

Almost everyday I check a great blog http://thekissackfamily.blogspot.com
They have four adorable boys and one great little girl who is adopted from Ukraine. Today she had this link to a story about homeschooling and America. Read it if you when you get the chance. Here's the link.
